Old Photo Restoration
You know that feeling when older relatives visit, and you start to talk about the family? Someone is bound to mention that they have some old photographs somewhere of Aunty Dorothy and Uncle Rupert, who were great fun and gave you a wonderful time when you stayed with them during your holidays. Spoilt wasn’t the word! It would be wonderful to relive those memories by seeing the photographs again. Your relatives’ offer to bring the photographs with them on their next visit and you quickly accepted.
When they revisit, sure enough they have got an old photo with them. The trouble is you can’t tell who is who, because of significant photo fading. Not to mention the crack right across the middle, making identification even more difficult. After much discussion a suggestion is made that a photograph restorer should see what could be retrieved from the photo.
A quick look on the web soon finds someone who specialises in old photo restoration. Maybe this would be a good test in seeing whether they are as proficient in restoring photographs to a ‘nearly new condition’ as they claim.
A quick phone call later, and the old, family photograph in need of restoration is on its way to the old photo restorer.
A few days later and the family are amazed to get back what looks like a recently taken photo of Aunty Dorothy and Uncle Rupert. The scratches and crack have gone, the grime of years has disappeared and the photograph damage restored; looks as if it was recently taken! Those old memories come flooding back.
